This year, the SOCAN Foundation and SOCAN are joining forces to offer screen composers a creative laboratory from November 15 to 17, 2023, at the legendary Piccolo Studios in Montreal. As in previous years, participants will be asked to compose music for a clip from a film chosen by the on-site mentor / film director.
The emphasis will be on orchestral composition, as composers will have the chance to conduct a group of musicians and record their composition. We’ll be honored to have Robert Kraft of Kraftbox Entertainment, two mentors and special guests on hand to share their experiences. It all culminates in a closing screening in the presence of industry professionals.
